Emily + Kris in Palm Beach

Weddings

Months before their wedding, I sat with Kris and Emily on the dock behind their home, under a watercolor sunset. From the first time meeting Emily and Kris, the three of us clicked so well. That meeting was a joy, our engagement session was one of my favorites I’ve done to date, and their wedding was so packed with energy and love.

My team and I captured their wedding day in both photo and video as Emily and Kris said “I do” at the Lake Pavilion under a summer sky in late June. Surrounded by lively friends and family, it was a party.

What marked the day most in my memory is the group of incredible women that surrounded Emily that day. Her sisters, always sweet and incredibly helpful, her mother, glowing and excited, and her bridesmaids, thoughtful and kind, brought a smile to my face all day long. The bond that all of them shared was evident and the day followed in that theme.

The rain started around an hour before the ceremony was set to begin, and Emily and her ladies handled it like a champ. They were flexible, ready to help and made the absolute best of it. The rain cleared just in time and we marched out to the waterfront, armed with umbrellas and confetti. The ceremony was beautiful and such a reflection of Jesus and his place in Emily and Kris’ relationship; it was a blessing to be a part of it.

An old-school Rolls Royce pulled up to the curb at the end of their ceremony, and whisked them away to a portrait session with my team and I on the island. As the sun set on the city we made some MAGIC.

Dusk fell and we danced the night away in the beautiful Lake Pavilion right on the water. The string lights glowed and Emily spun around from guest to guest, from dancing to cake cutting. When the time came, a sparker exit sent the happy couple off to their honeymoon in Mexico, and on to the rest of their lives together.
